Sudan is going through one of the biggest humanitarian crises in modern history and yet it remains outside the world's mainstream attention. More than a million people are suffering from malnutrition in famine-stricken areas, infectious diseases such as measles and cholera are rampant in overcrowded displacement camps, and sexual violence is systematically used as a tactic of war. In the last year alone, Doctors Without Borders has recorded over 3 500 cases of rape among its patients, and this is only a fraction of the true scale. Roughly 30% of victims are children.
Yet richer countries last year did not provide even a third of the funds the UN says are needed to help the Sudanese. "JIt is hard not to have the impression that the Sudanese and Sudanese women are alone in this," says our guest today Tomas Bendl.
In cooperation with Doctors Without Borders, we want to ensure that at least 200 malnourished Sudanese children a month of special food worth 506 CZK. Donate now!
