Who is behind VAKOVAKO
VAKOVAKO is a fintech startup powered by financial group STARTEEPO and the VAKOVAKO Foundation. It is the combined visionary product of our board’s expertise in global finance and IT, and mission to make the world a better place. Our hope is to make helping the world accessible to all with one simple, reliable tool. VAKOVAKO was founded and currently operates in Prague, Czech Republic.

Kristýna ensures the smooth running of the platform, coordinates all marketing and communication activities of VAKOVAKO. She is also in charge of relations with partner nonprofit organizations.

Hidden meaning of VAKOVAKO
Our name VAKOVAKO is a Marquesan word meaning “striped” — as striped as a thylacine, a now extinct animal otherwise known as the Tasmanian tiger or Tasmanian wolf. And this is no coincidence. We intentionally chose this extinct animal as a symbol of our efforts and the causes we support.
Additionally, the word “thylacine” translates to VAKOVLK in our native Czech language. This is yet another reason our endeavors and mobile app take the name VAKOVAKO.
The name VAKOVAKO reminds us every day that we can’t afford to experience yet another animal extinction, like that of the thylacine. But despite this reminder, the VAKOVAKO mobile app is full of threatened and endangered species facing the same Tasmanian fate.
