The world’s annual tea consumption is set to reach 7.5 billion kg by 2025. As we raise our teacups on International Tea Day, it's essential to recognize the need for responsible tea production and RAINFOREST conservation.

Across the globe, tea plantations often intersect with delicate ecosystems, and unsustainable farming methods can lead to habitat destruction and biodiversity loss. In regions like Asia and Africa, where tea cultivation is prevalent, deforestation and habitat degradation pose significant threats to wildlife and indigenous flora.
Clearing forests for tea plantations disrupts natural habitats and contributes to climate change, impacting local communities and ecosystems. In Sri Lanka, only 200,000 hectares of crucial RAINFORESTS are left. Not only that, tea cultivation requires a ton of water and energy. Approximately 4,000 liters of water are used to make just a single kilogram of tea.
Supporting initiatives that promote sustainable farming practices, conserve natural habitats, and empower local communities is crucial for ensuring the long-term viability of tea cultivation. By donating to organizations focused on conserving vital ecosystems, sustainable resource production, and promoting ethical sourcing in the tea industry, we can ensure our RAINFORESTS are here in the future.
