- Number 7: North Atlantic Right Whale — 360 individuals left in the wild
- Number 6: Cross River Gorillas — As few as 250 individuals left in the wild
- Number 5: Amur Leopard — Only 84 left in the wild
- Number 4: Javan Rhino — 76 left in the wild
- Number 3: Vaquita — Only 10 left in the wild
- Number 2: Yangtze Giant Softshell Turtle — 2 individuals (males) left in the wild
- Number 1: Northern White Rhino — 2 individuals (females) left in the wild
